Kokoda – Cairns Corporate Challenge

4 November 2015

Brent K and his 16 year old son Zak completed the Kokoda Track.

They were able to raise an incredible $4,500 for Cootheringa House, thank you to all those who donated.

“It was an incredible journey and I loved every minute!  From learning in detail of what our fathers went through during the conflict with Japan to meeting some amazing people and walking through some of the most incredible terrain in the world.

Some say it is life changing and I might just have to agree. One of the highlights was meeting Fiorie, the last Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel at Minari Village. Zak and I sat with him and I showed him a photo of my father Reg  as a 19 year old in his AIF uniform. Firoie’s eyes lit up as he recognised the uniform from many years ago. He then saw the resemblance between the photo of Reg and the young man, Zak standing in front of him and immediately smiled and motioned to Zak. I recommend anyone and everyone to put it on their bucket list”.

I have attached some great photos of our trek below, showing the beautiful landscape, the memorial in PNG and the great team we went with.
