Welcome Brent Cerutti

Brent Cerutti headshotBrent Cerutti, a Cairns local, has joined the great team at KWS as a Financial Planner.

Brent made the move from Ingham to Cairns in 2000 after completing a Bachelor of Management through James Cook University, Townsville. With over 10 years experience in the Financial Services industry, including 6 years providing direct equities advice in a stockbroking role, Brent has a breadth of knowledge to help his clients make the right financial choices suitable to their circumstances. He specialises in investments, wealth management, direct equities, superannuation, Self Managed Super Funds, wealth protection, personal insurance and retirement planning. In addition to his degree, Brent has completed an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services and is an ASX accredited equities and derivatives adviser. He is also a SMSF accredited adviser and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia.

Brent joined the KWS team because he shares the same views on what the culture and outlook of financial planning should look like in this new era.

“From July 2013 the industry has entered a new era, the Federal Government FOFA or Future Of Financial Advice, has the intent to provide clarity and transparity into how we help clients. Soon will be gone all commission and trail based investment advice. This is great news for the future of the profession and regaining the trust of the public. Since Storm and investments like WestPoint, my profession has been battered. Yet firms like KWS, which has always done the right things by clients and helped clients through difficult periods like the GFC are impacted by this poor public image. FOFA will help restore this image. Financial acumen is very low in Australia and the need for what we do to help people retire with comfort is becoming increasingly important. I wanted to join a firm that charge a fee for the service it provides and focuses on client outcomes and meets all the requirements under FOFA.”

Brent Kelly, the principal and senior financial planner said that Brent Ceruitti fits the culture perfectly. “At KWS our focus is on client outcomes and ensuring clients can meet their financial and retirement goals. We achieve this with the aim being providing fair and objective advice and our costs are based on time spent working with the client to meet their goals. We have a unique packaging arrangement ensuring great value for money and reducing costs.”

KWS are not aligned to any one superannuation fund. They can advise on SMSF, most managed funds and products out there as well as industry super funds (as long as they are rated 4 apples or higher with Chant West, an independent ratings group in the financial industry). They can also lend money and have access to almost all lenders in Australia.
