How to Borrow

1. Mortgage brokers have access to an exceptionally large network of lenders that they work with to obtain you the most favourable mortgage rates and terms. The more lenders you have competing for your home loan, the more you save.

2. Brokers work one-on-one with the client, evaluating their needs and finding a lender that suits them personally. An application request is then submitted to the lender and followed up, until the decision is received and settlement has been affected.

3. You save time with one-stop shopping. It may take weeks for you to organise appointments with lenders and I know that you would rather be spending your time house hunting!

4. Ensure you are getting the best rates and terms – even if you already have a mortgage. Mortgage brokers will investigate to see if there is an alternative to better suit your needs.

5. Bank loan officers process mortgage loans originated by their employer. This limits your choice as they are governed by their own guidelines and criteria.

6. No cost to you. There is usually no charge for services on typical residential mortgage transactions. Like many other professional services, such as insurance agents, mortgage brokers are generally paid a commission when the mortgage is settled.

7. If you have a tight schedule they can usually work around you in order to make the transaction as convenient for you as possible.

8. Ongoing support and consultation. Once your mortgage is signed and paperwork is complete, they are available for advice on closing details or future requirements or referral needs.
